DANGER
To avoid battery fluid leakage, fire ignition and explosion, be sure to observe
the following points.
· Do not use the battery pack with other product than specified.
· Always use the provided AC adapter for recharging.
· Do not throw the battery pack in fire, heat, open, modify or solder it.
· Be careful not to drop the battery pack or apply a strong impact to it.
· Do not short-circuit the terminals with a metallic object, etc.
· Do not carry or store the battery pack together with a metallic object such
as a necklace or hair pin.
· Do not recharge, use or leave the battery pack under high temperatures
such as in a place near a fire, under direct sunlight or in a closed automo-
bile.
· Do not stain or moisten the battery pack or allow a foreign object to enter
it. (The battery pack is not waterproof.)
In case of fluid leakage, take the following action.
· If the fluid attaches to your body or clothes, rinse well with fresh water.
· If the fluid enters your eye, immediately rinse with fresh water then
consult the doctor.
Operating Precautions
To avoid malfunction, observe the following points.
· Ensure that the battery pack is attached securely to the player.
· Do not attempt to charge a fully-recharged battery pack.
· Store the battery pack in a place with temperatures from 15 to 25°C
which is not subjected to high humidity or soot.

Please also read carefully the instruction manuals of the PDV-LC20 and
PDV-20.
Recharging
Before using the battery pack for the first time, charge it as described below.
· Charging starts when the AC adapter provided with the player is connected
to the battery pack.
· Charging completes in about 2.5 hours for the PDV-BT20 and in about 5
hours for the PDV-BT25.
· The battery pack can be charged even when it is attached to the player. It
can also be charged in the stand-alone state.
· When the battery pack is attached to the player, the battery pack can be
charged only when the player power is off. The charging stops whenever
the player power is switched on.

Caution:
· Be sure to use the AC adapter provided with the player.
· When the battery pack is not used, remove it from the player and store it properly.
· If the AC adapter is unplugged and plugged in again when charging has completed
(with the charge indicator lighting in green), charging appears to restarts for a short
period (during which the charge indicator lit in red or amber), but the battery pack
is already charged.
· The charge time is variable depending on the ambient temperature during
charging.
· The battery pack, player and/or AC adapter may become hot during charge or use,
but this is not malfunction.

Attaching/Removing the Battery Pack
Please also read the instruction manual of the player.
Attaching
1 Align the guide of the battery
pack with the guide on the rear
of the player.
2 Push down the front panel of
the player until it clicks.
Make sure that the unit is attached se-
curely to the battery pack by the two
catches.
Removing
1 Turn the player power off.
2 Slide the release switch on the
bottom of the battery pack in
the direction indicated.
Lift the player to remove the battery
pack.
Service Life and Recycling of the Battery Pack
· When the time required for recharging is prolonged or the playback avail-
able time from full recharging to exhaustion becomes extremely short, the
battery pack may have reached the end of service life. (The possible re-
charging count is about 300 times.)
· To save precious resources, do not dispose of an unnecessary battery pack
but bring it to a dealer cooperating with the rechargeable battery recycling
campaign.
